Endometrial Biopsy
Endometrial biopsy is a medical procedure to test endometrial cells of the womb lining.
Descripción del servicio
An endometrial biopsy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure that involves collecting a small tissue sample from the lining of your uterus (endometrium). During the procedure, your doctor inserts a thin, flexible tube through your cervix and uses gentle suction or a small instrument to remove a tiny amount of endometrial tissue. This sample is then examined under a microscope to check for abnormal cells or tissue changes. The procedure is commonly used to investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, evaluate the endometrium during infertility workups, screen for endometrial cancer, or assess hormonal effects on the uterine lining. Most patients experience mild cramping during and shortly after the procedure, which typically takes only 5-10 minutes and can be performed in your doctor's office without anesthesia or with local numbing. You may have light spotting for a few days afterward, but recovery is usually quick with minimal disruption to normal activities
